The Department of Conservative Dentistry at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, witnessed on Sunday, August 16, 2026, the defense of the master\u2019s thesis entitled:\u00a0 “AH Plus Versus AH Plus Bioceramic Root Canal Sealers: Evaluation of Adaptation and Micro-Push
\nOut Bond Strength to Radicular Dentin.”
\nThe thesis was presented by the student Dilbrin Salahaddin Abdulmajeed Saeed Al-Slevaney.
\nThe study aimed to evaluate and compare the bond strength and adaptation of two types of root canal sealers, namely AH Plus Jet and AH Plus Bioceramic, to root dentin using two storage media: distilled water and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS).
\nThe study utilized a push-out bond strength test via a digital universal testing machine to evaluate the bond strength of the experimental groups, while failure modes were assessed using a digital stereomicroscope. Furthermore, adaptation was evaluated using a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) to measure the mean gap width for each sealer group.
\nRegarding bond strength, the results revealed that the highest value was recorded for the AH Plus Bioceramic sealer across both storage media and in all root sections. A statistically significant difference in bond strength was observed for AH Plus Bioceramic between distilled water and PBS, whereas no statistically significant difference (P \\ge 0.05) was detected for AH Plus Jet between the two-storage media.
\nThe predominant failure mode for AH Plus Bioceramic was cohesive and mixed, whereas for AH Plus Jet, it was adhesive and mixed.
\nRegarding the gap width between the sealers and root dentin, AH Plus Bioceramic exhibited a lower mean gap width compared to AH Plus Jet in both storage media and across all root sections. At a significance level of P \\ge 0.05, a significant difference in mean gap width was found for AH Plus Bioceramic between distilled water and PBS, while no significant difference was observed for AH Plus Jet between the two media.
\nAdditionally, the smallest gap widths were consistently located in the coronal regions across all evaluated groups.
\nThe examination committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Shaker Hassan, with Assistant Professor Nadia Mudafar Ahmed and Assistant Professor Fanar Turki Abdulhamid as members. Professor Dr. Nawal Attiya Khalif supervised the thesis and served as a member of the examination committee.
\nAt the conclusion of the defense, the thesis was accepted following the implementation of the required revisions.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
