Master’s Thesis in the College of Education for Pure Science, Department of Physics…

In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (quality education), a master’s thesis entitled “A Study of the Optical, Structural, and Electrical Properties of Cadmium Oxide Films Prepared by the Permalloy Method” was discussed at the College of Education for Pure Science, at the University of Mosul on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
This study, presented by the student Muhammad Thamer Shaker Mahmoud from the Department of Physics, addressed the preparation of thin cadmium oxide (CdO) films on glass substrates at various temperatures (500, 400°C) using the sol-gel spin coating method. The study included the effect of changing temperature on the optical and structural properties of the prepared films. The thickness of the prepared films was measured using several methods to increase the accuracy of the results, including both the traditional gravimetric method and cross-sectional analysis using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed good agreement in thickness measurement between the methods used.
The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Mushtaq Abd Dawood Al-Jubouri, with Professor Dr. Raad Ahmed Rasool and Lecturer Dr. Khudr Ali Saleh and Professor Dr. Yasser Yahya Qasim and Assistant Professor Dr. Moataz Saleh Hassan as both members and supervisors.
The master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and his supervisors on this academic achievement.
