In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (quality education), a master’s thesis entitled “The Effect of the Problem-Centered Learning Strategy on the Achievement of Second-Year Intermediate Female Students in Chemistry and the Development of Their Chemical Curiosity” was discussed in the College of Education for Pure Science at the University of Mosul on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
\nPart of the thesis discussion was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Saadi Saeed, and a number of the faculty members of the department. The study, submitted by the student Iman Suleiman Jassim Muhammad Al-Azzawi from the Chemistry Department, examined the impact of a problem-centered learning strategy on the achievement of second-grade intermediate students in chemistry and the development of their chemical curiosity. The researcher formulated two null hypotheses: the first related to the achievement test in chemistry, and the second related to the development of a chemical curiosity scale for second-grade intermediate students. The research sample consisted of (82) second-grade intermediate students, randomly selected from Makkah Intermediate School for Girls for the academic year 2024-2025.
\nThe discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Mahmood Abdul-Salam Muhammad, and Assistant Professor Dr. Waad Ghanem Badawi and Lecturer Dr. Omar Fadel Himmadi as members, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad and Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Thanoon Ali as both members and supervisors.<\/p>\n

The master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and her supervisors on this scientific achievement.<\/p>\n
