In fulfillment of the fourth goal (Quality Education) of the Sustainable Development Goals, a master’s thesis entitled “The Effectiveness of Designing a Participatory Electronic Environment for Teaching Chemistry in Developing Visual Literacy and Deep Understanding of Chemical Concepts for Second-Year Intermediate Female Students” was defended at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Mosul on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
\nPart of the thesis defense was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Jassim Fatehi Ali, and the Head of the Chemistry Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Thanoon Ali.
\nThe study, presented by the student Rahma Muqdad Muhammad Ismail Al-Ziwani from the Chemistry Department, examined the effectiveness of a collaborative electronic chemistry teaching environment in developing visual literacy and a deep understanding of chemical concepts among second-year middle school female students. The researcher adopted an experimental design for two equal research groups (chronological age in months, intelligence, previous year’s chemistry grades, previous year’s GPA, pretest scores for visual literacy, pretest scores for deep understanding, and parents’ educational level). The research community comprised second-year middle school students in middle and secondary schools in Nineveh Governorate\/Mosul District for the academic year 2024-2025, affiliated with the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh, totaling (83) schools.
\nThe discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Waad Ghanem Bdewi, with Assistant Professor Dr. Aziz Muhammad Ali and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad as members, and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Salam Muhammad and Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Ramzi Abd as both members and supervisors.
\nThe master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and supervisors on this scientific achievement.<\/p>\n
