Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Jassim Fathi Ali, the College of Education for Pure Sciences held a workshop entitled “Compliance with Laws and Professional Standards for Computer Science Students at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Mosul, and Professional Ethics in Applying the Student Discipline Law in Institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 160 of 2007, as amended for the academic year 2025\/2026.” The workshop took place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Presenters included Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Hazem Amin Al-Kawaz, Head of the Computer Science Department; Lecturer Zeina Dhibyan Mohammed Zaki, Head of the Media and Government Communication Division; Legal Advisor Mohammed Subaih Yousef, Head of the Legal Division; and Mr. Ahmed Akram Abdul. The workshop aimed to promote the application of the Student Discipline Law in institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Scientific Directive No. 160 of 2007, as amended, reflects the Ministry’s and its departments’ efforts to preserve the reputation of Iraqi universities for the benefit of students and their families, the honorable members of this authentic Iraqi society in this great country. It also emphasizes raising awareness among university students about the importance of adhering to the laws imposed upon them by complying with the established rules and principles for the public good. Furthermore, it stresses the commitment to professional and ethical standards for students in the Computer Science Department, given the direct connection of their specialization to technology, information, and digital systems, which have become an essential part of modern life. This is achieved through the application of technical knowledge in a way that serves society and upholds human values.<\/p>\n
