The college of education for humanities, department of English, discussed a thesis on Critical Discourse Analysis of Religious Discourse: Selected Texts from Early Islamic Era on Monday 2\/9\/2024.<\/p>\n

A Part of it was attended by the dean, head of the said department and a number of the faculty’s teaching staff.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by Yaseen Muslih Khalaf, analyzes three sermons of the most prominent figures in Islam from a Critical Discourse Analysis perspective: Prophet Muhammad\u2019s Farewell Sermon, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq\u2019s Inauguration Speech and Imam Ali\u2019s Sermon in the book \u201cNahjul Balagha\u201d.<\/p>\n

The study primarily aims to identify the ideologies embedded in these three Sermons and identifying the orientation (positive or negative) of these ideologies.<\/p>\n
