On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, a delegation from Department of Studies and Planning at the University Presidency conducted an official site visit to assess the readiness for launching the new department. The committee was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Subhi Suleiman, Director of Department of Studies and Planning, accompanied by several division heads.<\/p>\n
The visiting delegation was welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, Dean of College of Engineering, along with the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs,\u00a0 Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, and Head of Architecture Engineering Department.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the committee conducted a thorough evaluation of academic staff qualifications, classroom infrastructure, laboratory facilities, and other essential material requirements. This review was carried out in accordance with the applicable regulatory standards for establishing new academic units.<\/p>\n
The proposed department is envisioned to play a pivotal role in equipping students with advanced skills in digital systems and smart communication technologies. This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and contributing meaningfully to national sustainable development goals.<\/p>\n
