{"id":40315,"date":"2025-06-01T19:14:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-01T19:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/engineering\/?p=40315"},"modified":"2025-06-03T07:16:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T07:16:21","slug":"40315","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/engineering\/2025\/06\/01\/40315\/","title":{"rendered":"Master\u2019s Thesis at College of Engineering on \u201cEnhancing the Security of the AODV Routing Protocol Using Artificial Intelligence\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"217\" data-end=\"539\">Department of Computer Engineering at College of Engineering, University of Mosul, held a master&#8217;s thesis defense for the thesis titled <strong data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"477\">\u201cEnhancing the Security of the AODV Routing Protocol Using Artificial Intelligence\u201d on Sunday, June 01, 2025 .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"541\" data-end=\"984\">The thesis, submitted by student <strong data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"599\">Zainab Bashar Ibrahim<\/strong>, focused on building an effective system using artificial intelligence models to detect and counter <strong data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"735\">black hole and wormhole attacks<\/strong>. The main objective of the research was to develop an intrusion detection system for these attacks by utilizing a dataset as input to train advanced AI models, including <strong data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"939\">Support Vector Machines (SVM)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"983\">Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1447\">The results demonstrated <strong data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1051\">exceptional performance<\/strong> of the proposed <strong data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1077\">BWADS<\/strong> (Black and Wormhole Attack Detection System). The <strong data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1141\">SVM model<\/strong> achieved a <strong data-start=\"1153\" data-end=\"1185\">detection accuracy of 99.96%<\/strong>, while the <strong data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1210\">CNN model<\/strong> showed superiority in identifying <strong data-start=\"1245\" data-end=\"1265\">combined attacks<\/strong>.
