Alsammak as First Supervisor and Dr. Hasan A. Mohammed as Second Supervisor On Sunday ,August , 24, 2025.<br \/>\nThe thesis presented by, \u201csaad hadi ahmed\u201d , Design of a multi-functional intelligent protection system for synchronous generators based on the operating point within the P-Q power curve, using MATLAB\/Simulink and Fuzzy Inference System (FIS)<br \/>\nThe thesis discusses Safe operating limits for a synchronous generator: Each generator has a specific operating area and safe limits within which it must operate to ensure reliable operation. These limits are: (Armature Heating Limit, Field Winding Heating Limit, Under excitation limit, Prime Mover Limit).<\/p>\n<p>The results showed The temperature of the generator cooling air has a significant impact on the safe operating limits of generators using an open-type cooling system. The results also showed a good response of the proposed protection system with an increase in the temperature of the air entering the generator.<br \/>\nThe current study is considered a sustainable study to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 9 &#8220;Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure&#8221; and Goal 11 &#8220;Sustainable Cities and Communities&#8221; by designing a multi-functional smart protection relay based on data taken from a gas turbine generating unit operating in the Mosul Gas Power Plant, manufactured by the Japanese company Hitachi, type (H25) with specifications (32.32 MVA, 11500 V, 0.8 PF). The new protection system was designed based on voltage, current, actual power, unreal power, and the temperature of the air entering the generator. When the air temperature rises, the operating capacity of the synchronous generator decreases according to its power curve, which leads to a reduction in the value of the generator&#8217;s protection settings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-40834\"
