Prof. Dr. Wael Hashem Hamdoon On Tuesday, August 26, 2025.<br \/>\nThe thesis presented by \u201cHussein Shukr Mahmoud\u201d aimed to &#8220;Design a centralized and distributed hybrid solar energy system for the University of Mosul campus to achieve energy self-sufficiency and sustainability, in addition to evaluating the proposed system&#8217;s design in terms of energy generation, cost, and usage efficiency.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe thesis discusses \u201cDesign and evaluation of a hybrid solar power plant (centralized and distributed) on the campus of the University of Mosul to address the problem of electricity shortage and high costs. I focused on the technical analysis using simulation programs PVsyst and HOMER to estimate performance and efficiency of use. It also addressed the economic and environmental feasibility of the proposed system in terms of reducing emissions and lowering costs\u201d.<br \/>\nThe results showed \u201cThe performance ratio of the central and distributed systems reached approximately 80% and 82%, respectively, with a low energy cost (0.02USD\/kWh) and the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions\u201d.<br \/>\nThe current study is considered a sustainable study to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 9 &#8220;Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure&#8221; and Goal 11 &#8220;Sustainable Cities and Communities&#8221; through designing a centralized and distributed hybrid solar energy system for the University of Mosul campus to achieve energy self-sufficiency and sustainability, in addition to evaluating the design of the proposed system in terms of energy generation, cost and efficiency of use.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone
