Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariq Yaseen as First supervisor and Prof. Dr. Qais Thanon Najim as second supervisor On Sunday, Aug., 31, 2025.<br \/>\nThe thesis presented by (Ahmed Salim Jarallah) aimed to Proposing new topologies that improve control of the electric field across the MOSFET channel, with a particular focus on enhancing ON-state current and mitigating short-channel effects for low-power and high-speed applications.<\/p>\n<p>The thesis discussed a new approach to addressing the challenges of MOSFET scaling by proposing new MOSFET gate topologies using asymmetric high dielectric constant materials, as well as employing dual-layer dielectrics with single and dual gate metal work functions, which effectively tailors the electric field within the channel, ensuring superior gate control.<br \/>\nThe results showed ON-state current (Ion) improvement of ~ 63%, a decrease in leakage current (Ioff) to 29%, and an improved switching ratio (Ion\/Ioff) by 129%. Making a new approach a promising candidate for replacing traditional MOSFETs in low-power and high-speed applications, particularly at nanoscale dimensions.<br \/>\nThe current study is considered a sustainable study to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 9 &#8220;Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure&#8221; and Goal 11 &#8220;Sustainable Cities and Communities&#8221; by proposing a promising new approach to replace conventional MOSFETs in low-power and high-speed applications, especially in nanoscale dimensions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
