Within the framework of its scientific activities and in line with University of Mosul\u2019s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities<\/em>\u2014 Department of Civil Engineering at College of Engineering organized a training course entitled \u201cGreen Concrete: Solutions for Achieving Sustainability in the Construction of Concrete Structures.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The course was held from September 21 to 25, 2025, and was designed for faculty members and engineers of the College of Engineering.<\/p>\n

The program aimed to familiarize participants with the concept of green concrete, alternative sustainable materials, their impact on concrete properties, and their role in reducing environmental pollution.<\/p>\n

Lectures were delivered by Assistant Professor Rana Burhan Abdulrahman<\/strong> (course supervisor), Dr. Nadia Sadiq Ismail<\/strong>, Lecturer Zina Adel Mohammed<\/strong>, and Assistant Lecturer Rafaa Dali Hamad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The course program included an introduction to green concrete and its components, global trends to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete, and the use of waste glass powder as a partial substitute for cement in concrete mixtures.<\/p>\n
