As part of the National Strategy for Education and the annual plan of Human Rights Unit at College of Engineering, and in cooperation with Human Rights Division at Presidency of University of Mosul, a workshop entitled \u201cSocial Cohesion as a Human Right and Its Role in Preventing Violent Extremism, Radicalism, Intolerance, and Incitement\u201d<\/em> was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Zaha Hadid Hall \u2013 Department of Architecture.<\/p>\n

The workshop was organized by Assistant Professor Nesma Maan Mohammed, Head of the Human Rights Unit, and attended by Mr. Ahmed Ezzaldeen Mohammed, representative of Human Rights Division, along with a number of university faculty, staff, and students.<\/p>\n

The session discussed the concept of social cohesion, its connection to human rights principles, and its vital role in preventing violent extremism and radicalism. It also addressed key strategies to counter terrorism and intolerance within educational institutions through a human rights\u2013based approach that promotes social cohesion and combats hate speech.<\/p>\n
