As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at University of Mosul<\/strong>, and in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong>, particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities<\/strong>, Department of Civil Engineering<\/strong> organized a training course entitled \u201cTowards a Sustainable Built Environment: The Role of Eco-Friendly Concrete\u201d<\/em>, held from October 26 to 30, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The course aimed to introduce participants to the latest sustainable construction materials and their vital role in enhancing the structural performance, durability, and sustainability of buildings and infrastructures.<\/p>\n

The course was supervised and lectured by Asst. Prof. Dr. Baraa Jabbar Mahmood<\/strong>, along with Dr. Mohammed Shakeeb Mohammed<\/strong>, Lecturer Ruaa Suhail Mohammed<\/strong>, Asst. Lecturer Rifaa Dalee Hamad<\/strong>, and Asst. Lecturer Zahraa Mohammed Shakir<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The program included introductory sessions on modern sustainable construction materials, global trends in their application, and the importance of material selection in improving the performance and cost-efficiency of engineering structures. A final assessment will be conducted for the participants at the end of the course.<\/p>\n
