On Tuesday, October 28, 2025<\/strong>, College of Engineering<\/strong> and Engineering Consulting Bureau<\/strong> at University of Mosul<\/strong> welcomed a committee from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC)<\/strong> of Ministry of Planning<\/strong>, to evaluate the college\u2019s laboratories and calibrate laboratory equipment as part of the procedures for obtaining national accreditation for educational laboratories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The committee was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon<\/strong>, Dean of the College of Engineering, along with the Director of Engineering Consulting Bureau<\/strong>, several heads of departments<\/strong>, and laboratory supervisors<\/strong>. During the visit, the committee reviewed the laboratories\u2019 current conditions, available equipment and instruments, as well as the safety, quality, and operational procedures<\/strong> in place.<\/p>\n

Discussions were held on accreditation requirements and national quality standards<\/strong>, with the committee affirming COSQC\u2019s support for Iraqi universities<\/strong> in developing laboratories and meeting accreditation standards that ensure accuracy and performance efficiency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The committee members praised the college\u2019s commitment to modernizing its laboratories<\/strong> and implementing quality standards. In turn, Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon<\/strong> expressed his appreciation for the committee\u2019s efforts and cooperation, emphasizing the college\u2019s ongoing dedication to its strategic plan for advancing the academic and research environment<\/strong> in line with accreditation and comprehensive quality requirements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This visit comes within the framework of collaboration between University of Mosul and COSQC<\/strong>, aimed at enhancing the quality of engineering education<\/strong> and ensuring the efficiency and excellence of its academic outcomes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
