As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering at the University of Mosul<\/strong>, and in line with its efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong>, particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities<\/strong>, Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering<\/strong> organized a training course<\/strong> titled \u201cWater Projects in Iraq: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions\u201d<\/em> for the period from October 26 to October 30, 2025<\/strong>.
The course was directed toward faculty members and engineers<\/strong> of the College of Engineering.<\/p>\n

The course aimed to discuss the current status of water projects in Iraq<\/strong>, the challenges they face<\/strong>, and to present scientific and engineering solutions<\/strong> that support sustainable water resources management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lecturers in the course included Asst. Prof. Azza Nasrallah Jarallah<\/strong> (course supervisor and lecturer), Dr. Abdulaziz Abdulbasit Mohammed<\/strong>, Lecturer Noor Idris Abdulqader<\/strong>, and Asst. Lecturer Ahmed Abdulhamid Ahmed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The program covered several key topics, including the water situation in Iraq<\/strong>, current challenges<\/strong>, water quotas and their impact on irrigation efficiency and resource sustainability<\/strong>, modern technologies for water resource development<\/strong>, and methods for protecting water resources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
