Department of Architecture at College of Engineering<\/strong> organized a scientific field visit<\/strong> for PhD students<\/strong> to Old Mosul<\/strong> on Monday, November 17, 2025<\/strong>, as part of the requirements for the Advanced Urban Design<\/strong> and Research Methodology<\/strong> courses.<\/p>\n

The visit was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Imad Hani Ismail Al-Allaf<\/strong> and Asst. Prof. Dr. Khawla Fayyad<\/strong>. It included visits to Mosul city center<\/strong> and the Mosul Museum<\/strong>, along with key urban nodes and gathering areas. Students explored major urban landmarks in the area, including Eastern Preparatory School<\/strong>, Al-Saray Market<\/strong>, Khan Al-Kamark<\/strong>, Al-Basha Mosque<\/strong>, Al-Aghawat Mosque<\/strong>, and several alleys in Old Mosul featuring restored traditional Mosuli houses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the urban fabric and heritage of Old Mosul<\/strong>, supporting their research and design projects in urban studies.<\/p>\n
