As part of the scientific activities of College of Engineering and in support of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), Department of Computer Engineering won the \u201cInnovation Shield\u201d<\/strong> for its distinguished participation in the Scientific Innovation Exhibition for the Northern Region, hosted by the University of Mosul on Sunday, November 30, 2025.<\/p>\n

The exhibition, held under the slogan \u201cTowards an Innovative Generation Leading Development,\u201d<\/em> was sponsored by the Minister of Youth and Sports and organized by the Scientific Welfare Directorate in cooperation with the Nineveh Directorate of Youth and Sports, with direct support from the University of Mosul.<\/p>\n

A high-level delegation visited the department\u2019s booth, including the President of the University of Mosul, the President of Al-Hadbaa University, the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University of Mosul, and a member of the Nineveh Provincial Council. The showcased projects received praise for their technical and scientific excellence.<\/p>\n

The department was represented by Dr. Bessman Mahmood Hassan, Lecturer Mohammed Tarek Mohammed, Engineer Abdullah Qais Al-Heidari, and students Diaa Eid Majeed Al-Hayyani, Maryam Anwar Jasim, Omar Hussein Mohammed, and Abdullah Moayad Hussein.<\/p>\n

This recognition highlights the department\u2019s contribution to innovative, sustainability-driven projects and its role in advancing the research environment in Iraq.<\/p>\n
