The accreditation was granted by Iraqi Council for Engineering Education Accreditation and officially endorsed by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement represents a major step forward in the University\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of engineering education and align its academic programs with nationally recognized accreditation standards. It reflects the program\u2019s adherence to quality assurance requirements and demonstrates the institutional and academic maturity attained by the University of Mosul in its pursuit of excellence, continuous improvement, and academic distinction.<\/p>\n<p>The attainment of this accreditation is the result of sustained institutional support and strategic leadership provided by the President of University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, whose commitment to fostering a culture of quality, accreditation, and academic development has played a fundamental role in advancing the University\u2019s educational mission. The achievement was further strengthened through the guidance and support of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, whose efforts contributed significantly to facilitating the academic and technical requirements associated with program accreditation and promoting quality assurance initiatives across the University.<\/p>\n<p>College of Engineering, under the leadership of the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon, has consistently prioritized academic excellence and the attainment of national and international accreditation standards as key strategic objectives. His continuous support and close supervision have been instrumental in enabling the successful completion of the accreditation process.<\/p>\n<p>The achievement was also made possible through the dedicated efforts of Department of Environmental Engineering, led by Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Abdulkarim, and through the direct coordination of Dr. Ammar Thamer Hamad, Program Representative and Chair of the Departmental Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Committee. Together with the academic, administrative, and technical staff, they worked diligently to prepare the program accreditation portfolio, document evidence and performance indicators, and ensure full compliance with the required accreditation standards and criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Program accreditation constitutes formal recognition of the quality and effectiveness of the academic program, affirming its ability to achieve its educational objectives and intended learning outcomes. Furthermore, it enhances stakeholder confidence in the program, strengthens graduates\u2019 competitiveness in the labor market, supports opportunities for advanced studies and professional development, and contributes to the continuous advancement of the engineering profession.<\/p>\n<p>The accreditation of the Environmental Engineering Program places the University of Mosul among the leading higher education institutions in Iraq with accredited engineering programs, reflecting its commitment to quality enhancement, institutional effectiveness, and sustainable academic development.
