Under the patronage and in the presence of President of University of Mosul, Professor Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi<\/strong>, and with the attendance of Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim<\/strong>, as well as under the supervision and presence of Dean of College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Mohammed Hamdoon<\/strong>, alongside members of the College Council and staff, College of Engineering opened its first solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station<\/strong>. The project marks a significant milestone in the College’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability while keeping pace with global advancements in sustainable transportation and clean energy.<\/p>\n

The project aims to provide modern infrastructure that supports the use of electric vehicles both on and beyond the university campus. It also seeks to strengthen scientific research and practical engineering applications for students by creating an educational environment that promotes the development of renewable energy technologies and smart charging systems.<\/p>\n

The charging station will also serve as a practical training platform for students and researchers, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in the design, operation, and management of electric vehicle charging stations, while bridging academic knowledge with contemporary engineering applications.<\/p>\n

The project is expected to contribute to the transition toward more sustainable transportation in Nineveh Governorate by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. This, in turn, will have a positive environmental impact through lowering carbon emissions and improving air quality.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the inauguration of the station represents an important step toward the efficient use of natural resources, enhanced energy efficiency, and the creation of new opportunities for investment in electric mobility technologies. It also supports the governorate’s efforts to embrace sustainable development projects and keep pace with technological advancement.<\/p>\n

This initiative reflects the vision of University of Mosul and College of Engineering to promote innovation, serve the community, and support initiatives that integrate education, scientific research, and sustainable development, thereby contributing to the creation of a more sustainable future for generations to come.<\/p>\n
