Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the supervision and attendance of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, the Governor’s Advisor representing the Governor of Nineveh, the Chairman of the Nineveh Provincial Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasoud, the University President’s Assistants, Dr. Nazir Al-Ansari, Professor at Lulea University in Sweden, and a number of deans of colleges and directors of government departments in Nineveh Governorate, the activities of the first international scientific conference of the College of Environmental Sciences entitled “Our Environment… Reality and Ambition” were launched today, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in the Grand University Theater Hall at the University of Mosul.<\/p>\n

The conference was opened with a welcoming speech to the honorable guests, followed by a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then the national anthem was played, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and Gaza.<\/p>\n

This was followed by a presentation of an introductory video about the college, its academic and scientific activities, the reconstruction campaign it witnessed, and what it provides to the community in terms of cadres with professional and scientific experience.
\nThis was followed by the scientific opening lecture presented by Dr. Nazir Al-Ansari, which included addressing the environmental reality in Iraq, desertification problems and ways to address them, as well as ways to address climate change.
\nThen, the scientific research accepted at the conference was presented by the researchers in the college halls, each according to his time.<\/p>\n
