Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Walid Al-Abbasi, the Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance Committee and the Women’s Affairs Committee in our college, in cooperation with the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh, held a workshop entitled “Drugs are a Security and Societal Danger”, today, Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the college discussion hall.<\/p>\n

It was delivered by:<\/p>\n

– Brigadier General Abi Hashim Aziz \/ Director of the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh.<\/p>\n

– Dr. Muhammad Abdul Hadi Jassim \/ Presidency of the University of Mosul.<\/p>\n

– Lecturer Sinan Dhnoon Abdullah \/ Faculty of Dentistry.<\/p>\n

The lecture included an introduction to drugs and an introduction to their types, compositions, and symptoms of taking them, in addition to the harms of drug abuse, methods of avoiding them, and stages of addiction.<\/p>\n

It also included the role of the family and society in avoiding addiction and staying away from drug abuse.<\/p>\n

The lecture aimed to raise awareness among students to beware of this dangerous scourge that could destroy the minds of our youth and their future, as they are the real wealth of our beloved country.<\/p>\n
