As part of its initiatives aimed at supporting the environment and promoting volunteerism within the university community, the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul launched a large-scale tree planting campaign as part of the “Seeds of Mercy” initiative, initiated by the university administration on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

The campaign was attended by the center’s director, Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Khair Al-Din Ibrahim, along with center staff, the principal and students of Ard Al-Rafidain Private Girls’ High School, and in cooperation with the university’s Department of Media and Government Communication.<\/p>\n

The activity involved planting a number of saplings in various locations near the Environmental Research Center, a step aimed at expanding green spaces, improving the environmental and aesthetic appeal of the university campus, and instilling a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship among members of the university community.<\/p>\n

This event comes as a continuation of the University of Mosul\u2019s approach to adopting voluntary and green initiatives that contribute to raising the quality of the university work environment and creating a healthy, vibrant, and giving educational environment, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land)<\/p>\n
