{"id":39408,"date":"2026-01-07T09:07:53","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T09:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/environmentcenter\/?p=39408"},"modified":"2026-01-07T09:08:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T09:08:07","slug":"the-environmental-research-center-at-the-university-of-mosul-held-a-scientific-seminar-on-the-use-of-paracetamol-in-spectroscopy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/environmentcenter\/2026\/01\/07\/the-environmental-research-center-at-the-university-of-mosul-held-a-scientific-seminar-on-the-use-of-paracetamol-in-spectroscopy\/","title":{"rendered":"The Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul held a scientific seminar on the use of paracetamol in spectroscopy."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul held a scientific seminar entitled \u201cThe Use of Acid-Degraded Paracetamol in the Spectroscopy of Dopamine Hydrochloride and Methyldopa by Oxidation-Coupling Reactions\u201d on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar was presented by Dr. Mohammed Salem.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar addressed the development of a modern spectroscopic method characterized by its simplicity, speed, and accuracy, for the determination of dopamine hydrochloride and methyldopa in their pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations, based on the oxidation-coupling reaction.<\/p>\n<p>The presenter explained the mechanism of reaction of acid-degraded paracetamol with dopamine hydrochloride and methyldopa separately, in the presence of the oxidizing agent, a mixture of potassium bromide and bromate, in an alkaline medium of sodium hydroxide, resulting in the formation of two colored products. One is purple, representing dopamine hydrochloride, and the other is blue, representing methyldopa, which facilitates highly accurate spectroscopic determination.<\/p>\n<p>This seminar is part of an effort to support scientific research and the development of modern analytical methods, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being).<\/p>\n<p><img
