The Director of the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Mai Abdulhafiz Abdulqader, received a specialized ministerial committee during its visit to the Center to review its scientific and research activities, assess its capabilities, and learn about its areas of specialization.<\/p>\n
The visit included discussions on the proposed merger of the Environmental Research Center with the Center for Dams and Water Resources Research, addressing the scientific, administrative, and organizational aspects of the proposal. The committee also reviewed the respective specializations and research activities of both centers and explored opportunities to enhance coordination and complementarity in line with their distinct research missions.<\/p>\n
The importance of evaluating the proposed merger from scientific and institutional perspectives was also emphasized, taking into consideration the specific characteristics of environmental and water-related disciplines and the role of scientific research in addressing environmental challenges, protecting natural resources, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
