The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department \/ Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, organized a symposium titled “Corruption and its Representations in World, Arab, and Iraqi Theater Discourse.”<\/b><\/p>\n

The event was held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, attended by the Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with college staff and students. The session was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaid Tariq Fadhil<\/b>, Asst. Prof. Dr. Aqeel Majid Hamid<\/b>, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Muhammad Jandari<\/b>, and was moderated by Asst. Lect. Zakaria Jalal Bashir<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The symposium aimed to reveal the artistic and aesthetic modalities through which theater has addressed the phenomenon of corruption, taking rooted social, political, and economic stances. It explored the representations of corruption within the dramatic structure through characters, conflict, language, theatrical space, and performance techniques.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the session analyzed theatrical discourse as a critical and documentary tool for dismantling systems of corruption and highlighting their impact on individuals and society, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (16).<\/p>\n
