Entrepreneurship Unit

As part of the University of Mosul’s efforts to foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship on campus, the Entrepreneurship Unit was established under the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Division. This unit serves as a dynamic platform that embraces youthful energy and nurtures their potential to transform entrepreneurial ideas into real projects with tangible economic and social impact.

The Entrepreneurship Unit is dedicated to providing essential support to students, graduates, and faculty members by building entrepreneurial skills, promoting a culture of initiative, and connecting the university to the labor market through specialized training programs and innovative incubation opportunities aligned with the goals of sustainable development.

The unit also supervises and organizes training courses for the national “Riyada” (Entrepreneurship) initiative, launched by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, aimed at supporting small projects and economically empowering youth.


🟢 Entrepreneurship Unit Tasks:

  • Promoting a culture of entrepreneurship within the university through seminars, workshops, and interactive activities.

  • Organizing and implementing the official “Riyada” initiative training courses in collaboration with relevant entities, and providing a suitable learning environment for participants.

  • Offering technical consultations and support for student and graduate entrepreneurs in the field of startup development.

  • Designing and executing specialized training programs in innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, and startup establishment.

  • Coordinating basic and advanced incubation programs in partnership with supporting institutions inside and outside the university.

  • Linking entrepreneurs to funding sources such as government and non-governmental funds and organizations.

  • Supporting innovative ideas and projects through continuous technical and marketing guidance and mentorship.

  • Encouraging student participation in entrepreneurship competitions, conferences, and both local and international exhibitions.

  • Providing a network of mentors and trainers including academics, entrepreneurs, and market experts.

  • Building effective partnerships with public and private institutions to support the university’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

  • Monitoring incubated projects and evaluating their impact on the individual, economic, and societal levels.
