As part of the efforts of the University of Mosul Presidency to develop library work and enhance the services provided to researchers, the Secretary General of the University of Mosul Libraries Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jasim chaired a meeting with the officials of the Central Library and sub-libraries, stressing the importance of achieving the integration of sub-libraries with the Central Library in keeping pace with international standards in providing optimal library services that promote the University of Mosul academic standing.
\nThe meeting discussed the necessity of applying the electronic computing system in sub-libraries, adopting modern digital solutions to improve the management of library resources and services, providing electronic databases and modern scientific resources that meet the needs of researchers in various disciplines, preparing comprehensive lists of scientific sources and periodicals to be available to researchers in scientific departments, and giving utmost importance to the implementation of the automated system for managing library resources in sub-libraries as is the case in the Central Library.
\nThe meeting also emphasized the participation of the officials of sub-libraries in training courses held in the Central Library to promote their capabilities, skills and efficiency in providing high-quality services.
\nAfter the meeting, field visits were paid to a number of sub-libraries within the University of Mosul to follow up on the progress of technical work in them according to the agreed procedures and systems, and to assess their needs and provide the necessary support to enhance their performance and develop their services in a way that achieves the goals of the University of Mosul in supporting scientific research and serving researchers.<\/p>\n
