In line with the directives of the Presidency of the University of Mosul, emphasizing the importance of providing the best possible services to its researchers, and as part of the General Directorate of the Central Library\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance access to global scientific resources, the Director of the Central Library, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, held a virtual meeting with representatives of the Research4Life Foundation on the evening of Monday, September 22, 2025.
\nThe meeting discussed mechanisms for activating access to electronic resources provided by the Foundation for the benefit of researchers and postgraduate students at the university. The meeting also included the presence of the manager of the University of Mosul Library Restoration Project, which is implemented by UNESCO with support from the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation.
\nResearch4Life is one of the most prominent international initiatives supporting educational and research institutions in developing countries by providing free or low-cost access to reliable scientific content through five main portals:
\n1. Hinari \u2013 Health & Medicine
\n2. AGORA \u2013 Agriculture and Environmental Sciences
\n3. ARDI \u2013 Technology and Innovation
\n4. OARE \u2013 Environment and Natural Resources
\n5. GOALI \u2013 Law and Social Justice
\nDuring the meeting, the participants also discussed the involvement of the international publishing house Elsevier in the program, which allows users to access a selective collection of its scientific journals through the Research4Life portals. This participation significantly enhances the ability of University of Mosul researchers to benefit from high-quality scientific content across various fields.
\nThe Research4Life Foundation also expressed its commitment to providing training services aimed at supporting the university’s efforts to raise the level of scientific publishing and to promote inclusion in international academic repositories.<\/p>\n
