Based on the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research,
\nand under the patronage of
\nProfessor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul,
\nand the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center,
\nthe Women’s Affairs Committee and the Human Rights Committee at the Mosul Studies Center, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department \u2013 \u200b\u200bSustainable Development Unit, the Women’s Affairs Unit, and the Human Rights Division\/Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a workshop entitled:<\/p>\n

(The Role of Women in Combating Poverty through Economic Empowerment)
\nPresented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Abdul-Khaliq Al-Sabawi\/Mosul Studies Center
\nWorkshop Management: Professor Dr. Maha Saeed Hamid\/Mosul Studies Center
\nThis took place on Thursday, November 13, 2025,
\nat 11:00 AM,
\nin the Mosul Studies Center building.<\/p>\n

The workshop addressed several topics, which can be summarized as follows:
\nFirst: Defining the concept of poverty and its causes
\nSecond: Defining empowerment and its types. Third: Women’s Economic Empowerment, which includes:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Definition of economic empowerment
\n\u2013 The relationship between empowerment and poverty reduction
\n\u2013 Factors hindering women’s economic empowerment
\n\u2013 Effective ways to enhance women’s economic empowerment<\/p>\n
