The director of the Mosul Studies Center participated in a scientific seminar.<\/p>\n

As part of the Mosul Studies Center’s efforts, represented by its director, to participate in scientific forums and strengthen research partnerships, the center participated in a scientific symposium organized by the College of Arts, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Hano, and the Oriental Studies Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit, University of Mosul. The Mosul Studies Center’s director, Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, presented a study entitled: “The Methodology of the German Orientalist Gotthold Bergstr\u00e4sser in Editing Arabic Texts: A Descriptive and Analytical Study.” He was joined by professors from the Oriental Studies Unit: Professor Dr. Maysoun Dhunoun Al-Abaiji, Assistant Professor Dr. Muzaffar Hussein Ali, and Mr. Mahdi Mohammed Ali. The symposium was attended by a distinguished group of professors from the Department of History and the Oriental Studies Unit, represented by its director, Professor Dr. Nasser Abdul-Razzaq Al-Mulla Jassim. The event took place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Hall No. 5 of the Department of History. The College of Arts held a seminar at 10:00 AM, where studies presented shed light on the methodologies of these two Orientalists in dealing with critical Arabic texts. The seminar also explored the schools of Orientalist scholarship in Europe, their efforts, methods, and approaches in collecting, studying, and editing manuscripts, relying on the works of two Orientalists, Bergstr\u00e4sser and Derroche, and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goals 4, 16, and 17.<\/p>\n
