In the presence of Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jasim, Assistant President of the University of Mosul for Scientific Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Tahsein Muhsin Hussein, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul; Prof. Dr. Radwan Hussein Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Ninevah; and Dr. Sobhi Hussein Makhlif, the master\u2019s thesis of student Hezber Mohammed Sultan was defended on the morning of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in the discussion hall of the College of Nursing \/ University of Mosul.<\/p>\n

The thesis, entitled:
\n“Neonatal Intestinal Obstruction: Risk Factors and Early Outcomes in Mosul Hospitals \u2013 A Case-Control Study”, falls within the framework of Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education). The study aimed to analyze the clinical factors associated with neonatal intestinal obstruction and evaluate early outcomes in several hospitals in Mosul through a case-control research design.<\/p>\n

The findings of the study revealed several key risk factors influencing the development of these conditions. The study also emphasized that early intervention and accurate diagnosis significantly contribute to improved clinical outcomes and reduced complication rates. It recommended enhancing the skills of nursing and medical staff working in neonatal care units through specialized training programs.<\/p>\n

The discussion committee consisted of the following members:<\/p>\n

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haider Mousa \u2013 Member \/ Technical Institute \u2013 Duhok Polytechnic University<\/p>\n

Lecturer Dr. Louay Amjad Mahmoud \u2013 Member \/ College of Nursing \u2013 University of Mosul<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Khudhur \u2013 Member and Supervisor \/ College of Medicine \u2013 University of Ninevah, who played a key role in supervising and guiding the student throughout the thesis preparation.<\/p>\n

The defense session featured a fruitful scientific discussion, including an in-depth review of the research topics and a series of comments and academic recommendations that enriched the quality and depth of the thesis.<\/p>\n

At the end of the session, the committee unanimously decided to award the student Hezber Mohammed Sultan a Master\u2019s degree in Nursing Sciences, after he completed the required revisions.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the College of Nursing administration extends its warmest congratulations to the student, wishing him continued success in his academic and professional journey.<\/p>\n
