<\/p>\nAssistant Professor (Ansam Saleem Mahdi) from the Public Policy Department participated in the First Scientific Conference on “Legal and Political Reform in Iraq: Reality and Aspirations,” held at the University of Anbar, College of Law and Political Science, on October 25-26, 2023. The research presented was titled “The Rule of Law and Transitional Justice as Essential Pillars for Building the Modern Civil State in Iraq.” The study highlighted that formulating and implementing policies for building a civil state in Iraq, based on the pillars of the rule of law and achieving transitional justice, requires providing a set of requirements and foundations to build a unified national identity, ensure peaceful power transition, establish the principles of citizenship, and reject hate speech and sectarianism.<\/p>\n
