Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Kossay Kamal Al-Ahmedy, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Tariq Muhammed Tayeb Zaher, in partnership with the Bahr Al-Ulum Charitable Foundation, and in collaboration with the Mosul Chamber of Commerce, the activities and events of the first day of the ninth annual scientific conference of the College of Political Science commenced on Sunday, April 21, 2024. The conference, themed “Confronting Climate Change: Everyone’s Responsibility,” took place at the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall at the University of Mosul.<\/p>\n

The day began with the national anthem followed by speeches from the chair of the conference’s preparatory committee and representatives from the Bahr Al-Ulum Charitable Foundation and the Mosul Chamber of Commerce. This was followed by the conference’s opening session, featuring a presentation by Dr. Aboud Feza, advisor to the Minister of Environment on climate change issues.<\/p>\n

The morning session of the conference, moderated by Dr. Qasim Al-Janabi, advisor to the Bahr Al-Ulum Charitable Foundation, included presentations of valuable scientific papers addressing various topics related to the conference’s themes. After a short break, the second session resumed, focusing on the political implications of environmental degradation and climate change at both the domestic and international levels.<\/p>\n

The first day of the conference saw broad participation from academic, administrative, and political elites of the province, as well as notable media coverage. The activities of the conference’s second day are scheduled to continue tomorrow, Monday, April 22, 2024, at the discussion hall of the College of Political Science.<\/p>\n
