A Master’s thesis entitled “The Impact of Violent Extremism on Women’s Rights” was discussed at the College of Law, University of Mosul, on Tuesday, 29 April 2025. The thesis was submitted by the student Dalia Mahmoud Hussein.<\/h4>\n

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Younis Yahya, with several faculty members serving as committee members. Among them was the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jasem Al-Taie, who served both as a committee member and the thesis supervisor.<\/h4>\n

The thesis aimed to demonstrate that violent extremism poses both direct and indirect threats to women’s rights. It emphasized that women in communities affected by violent extremism face exceptional challenges, including the deterioration of their social and political status. Their fundamental rights\u2014such as the right to education, health, and protection from violence\u2014are often violated.<\/h4>\n

The discussion was attended by some members of the councils of the Colleges of Political Science and Law, as well as a number of faculty members and a group of postgraduate students.<\/h4>\n

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included the acceptance of the thesis and the awarding of a Master\u2019s degree to the student.<\/h4>\n
