Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Abd Al-Abboudi, and the supervision of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, the University hosted the central conference of Nineveh\u2019s public and private universities on the academic role in achieving national unity and combating extremist ideologies, on Wednesday, 4 June 2025.<\/h4>\n

The conference was attended by the Director General of the Research and Development Department at the Ministry, Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, along with the presidents of Nineveh\u2019s public and private universities, and a number of academic and research figures.<\/h4>\n

Representing the College of Political Science, the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jasim Al-Taie, actively participated in the conference through his contribution to the dialogue session within the panel discussion on countering extremism.<\/h4>\n

The conference is part of the Ministry\u2019s efforts to promote a culture of national unity and to strengthen the role of universities as platforms for enlightenment and building societal peace, especially in areas that have faced security and social challenges in recent years.<\/h4>\n
