In fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions\u2014and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, and the Studies and Planning Division at the College, Al-Imam Al-Kadhim College (Wasit Branch) and the College of Law at the University of Mosul held the Fifth Scientific Forum titled \u201cThe Role of Law and Human Sciences in Combating the Scourge of Drugs and Psychoactive Substances.\u201d The event took place on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.<\/h4>\n

The conference witnessed the participation of numerous researchers and academics from various universities and research centers. From the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Lecturer Ansam Saleem Mahdi from the Public Policy Department took part with her research paper on \u201cLegal and Ethical Responsibility in Protecting Society from the Danger of Drugs.\u201d<\/h4>\n

The conference aimed to highlight the pivotal role of law and human sciences in confronting the spread of drugs through examining relevant legislation, clarifying the responsibilities of official and societal institutions, and raising awareness about the dangers of this phenomenon to community security and public health. It also sought to support academic and research efforts dedicated to reducing its escalation.<\/h4>\n

For its part, the College\u2019s Dean\u2019s Office congratulated this distinguished scholarly contribution, wishing the researcher and all faculty members continued excellence and success in scientific, research, and academic fields, God willing.<\/h4>\n
