In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Four: Quality Education, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning\/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul); under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision and attendance of the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Ta\u2019i, and under the slogan \u201cPolitics is a responsibility, not a privilege,\u201d the Media and Government Communication Division organized a special welcoming ceremony for first-year students of the morning and evening studies for the academic year 2025\u20132026, on Wednesday, 24 December 2025.<\/h4>\n

The ceremony began with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in mercy for the souls of the martyrs, and then listening to verses from the Holy Qur\u2019an. After that, the Dean of the College delivered an opening speech in which he emphasized the importance of providing a supportive and motivating university environment for students, which would undoubtedly contribute to refining their scientific and intellectual personalities. He also called on students to adhere to university regulations and instructions and to strive earnestly toward excellence and success. Subsequently, the floor was opened for artistic, literary, and creative contributions on various cultural and national themes, presented by a group of students.<\/h4>\n

The ceremony was moderated by Mr. Laith Al-Jawadi (representing the organizing body) and Mr. Ihab Al-Kasser (representing the students). It was attended by several members of the College Council, a number of faculty members, in addition to the honored students, as well as dozens who gathered and celebrated in the courtyard of the university\u2019s second campus.<\/h4>\n
