In line with the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014Goal Three: Good Health and Well-Being, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions\u2014and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit, Tikrit Journal of Law published the research of the faculty member of the Public Policy Branch at the College of Political Science, Assistant Lecturer Ansam Salim Mahdi, entitled \u201cCompensation for Aesthetic Damage\u201d, in December 2025.<\/h4>\n

Aesthetic damage or disfigurement is considered one of the most significant types of harm that may affect a person, as it impacts the aesthetic aspect and physical appearance of the human body. Jurisprudence and the judiciary have differed regarding compensation for this type of damage: some consider it compensable on the basis that it is material damage, while others view it as moral damage; in addition, there is another form of harm, namely permanent partial disability. The research demonstrates that aesthetic damage is material rather than moral damage, and not a separate type of damage. Compensation for aesthetic damage is a special form of compensation with specific conditions, and the study also addresses the nature of the civil liability incurred by cosmetic surgeons and the legal characterization of aesthetic damage.<\/h4>\n
