In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul); under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision and attendance of the Deans of the Colleges of Political Science and Law, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Ta\u2019i and Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Ramadan Al-Khattabi, and in cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Commission Office in Nineveh Governorate, the two colleges held the scientific symposium entitled: \u201cThe Constants of the State and the Requirements of National Security: An Integrative Vision between the Legislative System and the Field Reality,\u201d on Monday, 12 January 2026.<\/h4>\n

The symposium aimed to shed light on the importance of integration between legislative frameworks and practical reality in strengthening national security and consolidating the constants of the state, as well as discussing the current challenges facing national institutions and ways to address them from legal and security perspectives.<\/h4>\n

The symposium began with the Iraqi national anthem, the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur\u2019an, and the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of the martyrs, in addition to several opening remarks accompanied by a video presentation. This was followed by the launch of the scientific session, which addressed legal, religious, security, and political themes.
\nFrom the College of Political Science, Lecturer Sajida Farhan Hussein presented her research paper entitled \u201cThe Impact of External Interventions on National Security,\u201d while Assistant Lecturer Abdulkarim Zuhair presented his research paper entitled \u201cModern Cyber Wars and Their Impact on Iraqi National Security.\u201d The symposium was moderated by Mr. Laith Amer Al-Jawadi.<\/h4>\n

The symposium was attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and students, in addition to representatives of relevant institutions. The floor was also opened for numerous scholarly interventions that enriched the discussion themes and contributed to deepening the academic and practical understanding of the topic under consideration.<\/h4>\n
