In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal Four: Quality Education and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Division\/Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the Human Rights, Continuing Education, and Cultural Activities Units of the College of Political Science held a discussion panel entitled \u201cHuman Rights between Legislation and Practice\u201d on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The panel consisted of five research papers addressing diverse and complementary topics. Assistant Professor Dr Omar Hashim Dhanoon presented a paper entitled \u201cHuman Rights between Text and Practice: A Reading of Strategic Effectiveness,\u201d while Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Hazim Hamid presented a paper entitled \u201cCultural Challenges in the Application of Human Rights: An Intellectual Approach.\u201d Assistant Lecturer Sajida Farhan Hussein presented a paper entitled \u201cHuman Rights between International Commitment and National Legislation,\u201d whereas Assistant Lecturer Omnia Ibrahim Khalil presented a paper entitled \u201cDigital Rights and Freedom of Expression: The Legislative Gap in Addressing Violations.\u201d In addition, Assistant Lecturer Sherihan Mustafa Ahmed presented a paper entitled \u201cHuman Rights in Iraqi Legislation.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The activity was held under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Ta\u2019i, and was attended by a number of the college\u2019s teaching and administrative staff.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
