In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal Seventeen: Partnerships for the Goals, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul), the Ain Al-Sharq Foundation held a forum dedicated to discussing the book Guardians of the Scales: Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq \u2013 A Study in Administration and Leadership<\/em>, authored by Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakkak Al-Badrani, on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. The forum was attended by a number of judges, members of the Nineveh Provincial Council and the University of Mosul Council, as well as several academics and university faculty members.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The College of Political Science played an active role in ensuring the success of the forum\u2019s activities. Hasan Younis Abdullah, Senior Principal Chief Engineer and Head of the Media and Government Communication Division, served as the master of ceremonies. Meanwhile, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Ta\u2019i, delivered the opening address, while Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Elias, a faculty member of the International Relations Branch, chaired the academic session.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The forum aimed to shed light on the careers of the presidents of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq and examine their experiences in managing and leading the judicial institution, as well as their contributions to upholding the principles of justice, the rule of law, and judicial independence. It also sought to document their professional biographies and highlight their roles in confronting the challenges faced by the country, thereby enhancing public awareness of the importance of the judicial institution and its role in protecting rights and safeguarding the state.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The forum was organized in cooperation with the University of Mosul and the Nineveh Court of Appeal under the slogan: \u201cGuardians of the Scales: A Legacy of Justice and a Judicial Journey in Difficult Times.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n
