Prof. Dr. Nofal Qasim Al-Shahwan gave a comprehensive presentation on the reality of the Regional Studies Center, especially after the liberation operations and the\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">comprehensive<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0destruction of its buildings, including its library, which was the beating heart of the\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">center<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0with the most\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">important<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0things it contained including references and scientific and research sources for researchers and postgraduate students from all over our dear country. However, thanks to the cooperation between the Center and the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Center<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0was able to regain its stranding in a short period by resuming its usual activities by keeping up with current events in the regional and international arenas through the topics that it raises, discusses and analyzes, represented by its continuous activities of participation and holding conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops and symposiums throughout the academic year. \u200f The\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Center<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0also sought to provide its library with scientific sources, in addition to writing and publishing scientific research and issuing books by its researchers within the Centre\u2019s jurisdiction, supervising and providing academic advice to postgraduate students, in addition to continuing to publish the Centre\u2019s peer-reviewed scientific journal, \u201c Regional Studies Journal<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0which has achieved an important step when indexed within the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and it is currently making progress towards reaching Scopus.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the activities of the Sustainable Development\u00a0Festival,\u00a0 Regional Studies Center participated in the Sustainable Development Festival, which was organized by the University of Mosul on May 7, 2024.
