Regional Studies Center held a seminar on the research entitled \u201cThe Political Performance of the European Left during the Cold War Years\u201d by Assist. Prof. Walid Mahmood Ahmad on November 10, 2024.
\nThe seminar aimed to shed light on the contradictions that affected leftist thought in Europe through the division that affected this thought between the socialist left trend with its communist front expressed by the Soviet Union and some Eastern European countries, and between the socialist left trend with its liberal image, this image overshadowed the political performance in Western Europe, which faced an external influence through American liberalism that tried to install the American model in the economic joints in the European continent to displace the Soviet communist model in its attempts to dominate the political-economic interfaces in the European continent.
