The Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul organized a seminar on Thursday, November 6, 2025, titled \u201cThe Problem of Poverty: Challenges and Solutions\u201d. The event was held in observance of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, marked annually on October 17.<\/p>\n

The seminar discussed the structural and economic factors contributing to the worsening of poverty, as well as effective policies and sustainable development programs aimed at reducing it.<\/p>\n

Speakers emphasized that eradicating poverty represents the first goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1). They also highlighted the interconnection between this goal and several others, including Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).<\/p>\n
