Regional Studies Center \/ Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific seminar in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department \/ Sustainable Development Unit, as part of the activities of the Center\u2019s Women\u2019s Affairs Committee, and in coordination with the Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The seminar was titled \u201cThe Impact of Legislative Frameworks on Women\u2019s Participation in the Labor Market: Lessons from International and Regional Experiences\u201d.<\/p>\n
This event was held within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security, under the pillar of Cultural Awareness. It aimed to enhance awareness of the role of legislation in supporting women\u2019s participation in economic life and to discuss international and regional best practices in addressing the legal and social barriers facing women in the labor market.<\/p>\n
The seminar was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Batool Halil Jubair, who highlighted the relationship between legal policies and increasing women\u2019s employment rates. She emphasized the importance of activating legislation that ensures gender equality, improving the work environment, and supporting women\u2019s entrepreneurship. The seminar also reviewed several countries\u2019 successful legislative programs that have strengthened women\u2019s economic participation, linking them to the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).<\/p>\n
