As part of the National Security Strategy (\u201cIraq First\u201d) for 2025\u20132030, Regional Studies Center \/ Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department \/ Sustainable Development Unit, held a seminar on Sunday, May 3, 2026, titled \u201cIntellectual Security and Its Role in Strengthening Societal Stability\u201d. The event brought together a distinguished group of academics and researchers.<\/p>\n
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of promoting intellectual security as a fundamental pillar for achieving social stability. It also explored ways to address intellectual challenges that may affect social cohesion. Furthermore, the session sought to reinforce concepts of awareness and belonging in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals\u2014particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).<\/p>\n
The seminar featured scholarly contributions presented by Prof. Dr. Saddam Mohammed, who examined the concept and dimensions of intellectual security and its relationship to societal stability. He also reviewed key contemporary challenges that threaten intellectual balance and proposed practical mechanisms to foster a culture of dialogue and tolerance.<\/p>\n
