{"id":40711,"date":"2026-06-18T08:32:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T08:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/remotesensingcenter\/?p=40711"},"modified":"2026-06-18T08:32:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T08:32:12","slug":"a-new-scientific-research-paper-published-by-researchers-from-the-remote-sensing-center-in-a-q1-scopus-indexed-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/remotesensingcenter\/2026\/06\/18\/a-new-scientific-research-paper-published-by-researchers-from-the-remote-sensing-center-in-a-q1-scopus-indexed-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"A New Scientific Research Paper Published by Researchers from the Remote Sensing Center in a Q1 Scopus-Indexed Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">As part of the distinguished scientific and research activities of the Remote Sensing Center, a new research paper has been published in the <em>Iraqi Journal of Science<\/em>, a globally recognized journal ranked within the first quartile (Q1) and indexed in the Scopus database.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The research was conducted by Mr. Sabah Hussein Ali and Associate Professor Dr. Rayan Ghazi Thanon, faculty members of the Remote Sensing Center, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Hadeer Mohammed Ghazi from the Dams Research Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The paper is entitled:<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>\u201cSpatial Analysis of the Vegetation Condition Index of Al-Hamdania District by Remote Sensing Dataset\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The study investigated drought phenomena and their substantial impacts on the agricultural sector in Al-Hamdania District, located east of Mosul City, through the analysis and monitoring of vegetation cover changes during the period from 2017 to 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The research employed an integrated approach combining Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques to analyze the Vegetation Condition Index (VCI), aiming to assess drought severity and monitor the spatial and temporal variations of vegetation cover across the study area.<\/p>\n<p>The significance of this research lies in its application of advanced geospatial technologies to generate accurate and reliable information that supports natural resource management and agricultural planning.
