As part of the ongoing scientific cooperation between the University of Mosul\u2019s Remote Sensing Center and the Northern Technical University\u2019s Polytechnic College, a delegation of academic staff and second-year students from the Surveying Engineering Technologies Department visited the Center. The visit aimed to enhance students\u2019 theoretical and practical knowledge and introduce them to the technologies used in remote sensing, enabling them to apply these techniques in their field of specialization.<\/p>\n

The delegation was received by the Director of the Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulrahman Ramzi Qabaa, who provided a comprehensive introductory tour highlighting the Center\u2019s activities, leading role, and scientific and service-oriented cooperation with various government departments and service institutions across the governorate.<\/p>\n

The visit also featured specialized scientific lectures covering modern concepts and fundamental principles of remote sensing technologies, as well as advanced software used in the digital processing of satellite data and imagery.<\/p>\n

Students were also given the opportunity to explore the Center\u2019s specialized scientific laboratories, which included:<\/p>\n

  1. Spectral Analysis Laboratory:<\/strong> Introducing students to the spectral properties of objects and spectral measurement techniques.<\/li>\n
  2. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Laboratory:<\/strong> Showcasing the latest technologies in aerial surveying and field data collection.<\/li>\n
  3. Visual Interpretation of Aerial Imagery Laboratory:<\/strong> Providing practical training in the analysis and interpretation of aerial photographs and maps.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At the conclusion of the visit, the academic staff and students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Center\u2019s staff for their warm reception and the valuable information provided. They emphasized that the visit had successfully achieved its intended objectives, significantly enriching their scientific knowledge and broadening their academic horizons.<\/p>\n

    This visit aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education<\/strong> and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
