<\/i><\/i><\/span>Programme Description<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Program at the College of Law, University of Mosul, is an undergraduate academic program designed to prepare graduates with the fundamental legal knowledge and the analytical and practical skills required to understand, interpret, and apply legal rules and principles, thereby qualifying them to contribute effectively to legal and professional fields and to serve the community. At present, the first stage, which is the stage currently covered by the Bologna Process, adopts a student-centered learning system and uses the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The first stage comprises 60 ECTS credits distributed equally between Course 1 and Course 2, with 30 ECTS credits allocated to each course. The first stage consists of foundational courses that provide students with an integrated knowledge base in legal sciences. These include: Theory of the State, Theory of Law, General Theory of Crime, Administrative Law, Introduction to the Study of Sharia, Human Rights and Democracy, English Language, Constitutional Theory, Theory of Rights, General Theory of Punishment, History of Law, Computer, and Arabic Language. These courses aim to establish the knowledge and skills foundation that enables students to progress gradually to the study of specialized branches of law in subsequent stages. The program also seeks to integrate theoretical legal knowledge with practical application, legal research, and critical analysis; to develop students\u2019 ability to engage with legal texts, constitutional principles, and general rules of law; and to understand the relationship between law, society, public institutions, and human rights. Particular emphasis is placed on developing legal reasoning, analytical and inferential abilities, legal-source research, communication, teamwork, professional ethics, and legal and social responsibility. The program contributes to preparing graduates who are capable of pursuing postgraduate studies and professional development and of working in various legal fields in accordance with the applicable legislation, regulations, and instructions.<\/p>\n
